Faculty Program

A dedicated program for educators who accompanied their students to the Education Without Borders International Student Conference and other education professionals was introduced in 2007. This took the form of a series of presentations tailored specifically to the needs of academic and international staff. It focused on the prospects for transnational education in the Middle East . Particular attention was paid to the education environment of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the initiatives that have been taken by the Higher Colleges of Technology and its associated enterprises.

The Faculty Program attracted a truly exceptional list of international speakers on the theme of transnational education including Professor Jeanette Hacket, Vice-Chancellor at Curtin University of Technology, Australia, Professor Neil Gorman, Vice-Chancellor, Nottingham Trent University in the UK and Professor Monte Cassim, president of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (RAPU) in Japan.

This added element to Education Without Borders provided a unique forum for sharing ideas and experiences in an environment where some of the world's brightest students were engaged in serious discussion, sharing their responses to the challenges of the modern world.
